Hard Drive Data Recovery

  • Datatrack Labs offer industry leading technological solutions and multiple service options for all types of hard drive data recovery:

Any connection interface: (IDE, EIDE), Serial ATA (SATA), SCSI, SAS, and Fibre Channel

Any brand or combination of drives: desktop hard drive's, laptop hard drive's, external hard drive's or multiple RAID drives.

Any fault with the media, such as file deletion, firmware corruption and mechanical failure.

Datatrack Labs are entrusted by thousands of IT professionals and PC consumers with their data loss situations.

  • What Causes a Data Loss?

Datatrack Labs expert engineers classify HD data loss in four categories:

Logical failure - the hard drive is in good working order but files or data cannot be accessed for logical reasons such as file system corruption, lost partition information or accidental reformatting.

Electrical failure – the hard drive refuses to spin. Sometimes a burning odour is produced by the hard drive and viable burns may be located on the PCB.

Mechanical failure - the hard drive is not functioning. The most common causes of a mechanical failure include read/write head crashes and spindle motor seizure.

Firmware failure - the hard drive is failing to function but appears in good mechanical order. Firmware is reprogrammed and fine tuned in order to bring the hard drive back to life.

  • How is the data recovery accomplished?

First of all, the exact problem with the media needs to be identified. A thorough evaluation is required of the failed media. Once the problem is investigated and identified, the recovery can commence.

Data recovery involves more than just replacing the faulty components. Datatrack Labs use industry leading hard drive data recovery tools and processes that come from many years of experience and heavy investment in Research and Development.

In cases of mechanical failure, hard drive rebuilds are performed in a dust-free clean room environment where they are carefully analysed and repaired.

Datatrack Labs possess specially designed custom made tools to extract and read data from unstable and troublesome hard drives enabling the greatest chance of a successful recovery for the client.

I was very pleased with the service provided by Datatrack Labs Ltd. They were very helpful, honest, and kept me well informed at all stages. Initially my failed hard drive was sent to another firm which claims to be one of the cheapest for data recovery in the UK, and from the information given them over the phone, they said that recovery should not cost more than £97: however after evaluating my drive they said that the Head Disk Assembly Unit had failed and would have to be replaced before recovery could be attempted: this would cost £365. Being familiar with computing I felt this alleged failure did not match the symptoms so I had the drive returned immediately. I then sent it to Datatrack Labs who quickly confirmed my suspicions - the Head Disk Assembly Unit had not failed and they achieved a full recovery of my data for about £100 less than the other firm and included a new 500 GB external hard drive. I would confidently recommend Datatrack Labs Ltd to anyone with a failed hard drive.
